We are based in Stoke, heart of the Potteries, maintaining a local tradition that has

existed for over 300 years, The Oatcake.

Lots of stories exist on the internet about where the oatcake originated, I cant be

sure as I wasnt around then, but I do know one thing for sure, oatcakes are a

delight for the people of Staffordshire, and its our job, along with the other 20+

oatcake bakeries to serve  ..................................................................................................................

Oatcakes, for an outsider, aren't the prettiest of foodstuffs, I've known people from

outside of Staffordshire to try and use them for table mats! But to the true Potter

an oatcake is a great delight, how many tales do we hear about people who have

emigrated to some far off fabulous destination to be totally homesick because they

cant have fresh oatcakes? Mad, not at all, it's ingrained in peoples childhood

memories, a trip to the oatcake shop on a Sunday morning, pick up a 'dozen' then

back home for a big fry-up with all of the family around the table, you cant buy

memories like that.
